New business ventures unveiled at Boost event

Fifteen entrepreneurs were at the Doherty Hotel Wednesday to “pitch their business” in front of a panel of judges and audience members.

The event, called “Boost” was sponsored by the Blue Water Angels, MidMichigan Innovation Center, Great Lakes Entrepreneurs Quest and the Middle Michigan Development Corporation.

Participants had a chance to pitch their idea, product, service or business to professionals. The Blue Water Angels is a group that provides assistance, marketing ideas and sometimes funds new business ventures, said Kathy Methner of Middle Michigan Development. Local sponsors for the Clare Boost event included Chemical Bank, Allen and Klaus and the Harrison Area Economic Development Corporation.
