TEDxFlint comes to U campus

UM-Flint will host the second annual TEDxFlint conference on Oct. 22 at the UCEN Kiva. Since its first year in Flint in 2010 at Kettering University, TEDx has drawn many passionate thinkers.

“TEDx is basically an open think tank,” SG Sena¬tor Alex Benda said.

According to their web¬site, TED is a non-profit organization that allows people to express their ideas about anything to the nation. TEDx, on the other hand, was formed as a local sub-group of TED so that ideas could be presented on a personal scale, allowing individual members of a city or community to gather. The organization allows communities to get together and discuss important issues on a national and global level.
