Prima Civitas Foundation to Host Regional Conference During Global Entrepreneurship Week

Prima Civitas Foundation to Host Regional Conference During Global Entrepreneurship Week
   
 Lansing, MI - In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, (November 16 - 22), the Prima Civitas Foundation (PCF) is hosting an event centered on its regional entrepreneurship initiative, Moving Ideas to Market (MI2M).

At the conference, participants in MI2M's three volunteer-driven action teams - IGNITE, EnGen, and Jumpstart - will report-out on team activities and upcoming events. A number of entrepreneur support organizations and professionals involved in MI2M will have exhibits and representatives on hand to explain programs or services.

The conference will take place on Tuesday, November 17th at 9:30 a.m. at the Lexington Hotel in Lansing. The event is free and open to the public. Those interested in attending can register with Amiee Evans at a.evans@primacivitas.org by Friday, November 13th. Space for the event is limited, and registration will not be available the day of the event.

MI2M is a C.S. Mott Foundation funded initiative launched by PCF in 2007 to improve the entrepreneurial climate in Mid-Michigan. The inventive initiative supports IGNITE, EnGen, and Jumpstart develop networks, resources, and competitions that inform and encourage k-12 students, college students, and adult Mid-Michigan residents with potential business ideas or inventions. The C.S. Mott Foundation recently renewed its funding to PCF to continue the work of MI2M another year.

Corporation for a Skilled Workforce (CSW), and MSU Extension 4-H Youth Development assist the action teams with project development and implementation.

"Moving Ideas to Market is a great example of how numerous organizations, universities, and individuals can work together to support Michigan residents who dream of starting businesses. PCF is thrilled to host a conference that brings together all of these dedicated participants to celebrate Michigan's entrepreneurial spirit," noted Holly Hetzner, coordinator of the MI2M initiative.
