David Hollister Announces Retirement;
Prima Civitas Foundation Seeks New President/CEO

Lansing, MI - The search is on for a new President and CEO of the Prima Civitas Foundation (PCF), an economic development non-profit located in Lansing. David Hollister, founding President & CEO, has announced he will step down from his day-to-day responsibilities effective March 2011.

Hollister will remain intimately involved with the Foundation he helped start in 2006 alongside Dennis Sykes and key partners from Michigan State University, but will now step back from the demanding schedule he has kept for 40 years.

"I am not saying goodbye to Prima Civitas. Instead, this is a transition to a new role as counselor and advisor, and an opportunity to bring on a new leader to serve as President & CEO in the next generation of the Foundation," said Hollister.

The Foundation's Board of Directors has completed an extensive position profile as they seek the next leader of the organization.

"We are confident that we will find a leader for PCF who can build on the momentum of the last five years for the continued economic transformation of Michigan. The Foundation is home to a very effective staff, and enjoys the strong support of its funders.  The opportunity for the next CEO to work next to David and with the staff will make for the smoothest of transitions.  We expect strong interest in this very important leadership position," said Steve Webster, Vice President for Government Affairs at Michigan State University, and a member of the Board of Directors for Prima Civitas.

"Dave and the staff have much to be proud of for all that has been accomplished since 2006. Now, as we look forward, we seek a leader who will continue to contribute toward Michigan's new economic future," added Duane Miller, a board member, and Executive Vice President for the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Applications and nominations for the position of President & CEO are being accepted through July 16, 2010. The full position profile is available at www.primacivitas.org/press-room/president-and-ceo/.

The new President & CEO is expected to begin this fall or winter, with an overlapping transition period with Hollister. The organization has nine employees and operates six major initiatives all geared at long-term economic transformation for the Mid-Michigan region and state alike.
